Default Bar Stool Pundits, week 4

The Bar Stool Pundits are in desperation mode. They have gone 0-8-1 so far. This simply will not continue and loyal followers of my BSP reporting should prepare for the football gods to throw some bones to the BSPs. A run of 0-8-1 is particularly bad, even for them.

Keep in mind that the opposite side of the BSP is not necessarily the sharp side. The BSP side is usually just the one where the taking the opposite side feels sick, like taking Miami and Green Bay last week. But I'm not so sure the sharps were necessarily on that game. Often, the BSP side is in a game the sharps are just staying away from. Personally, I can't believe I bet money on those teams they looked so ugly.

So on to week 4.

I have a sneaking suspicion that this year's Bengals are a repeat of the 99 Rams. The tv experts and columnists don't really buy into them yet. It took the 99 Rams about 7 weeks to get some love.

But the BSPs are already converted to the Bengals, so I have to report that the #1 BSP favorite this week is

Bengals -9.5 over Texans. This is the best chance so far this year for the BSPs to cash a winner, imo. I believe in the Bengals. I really do. But I'm taking Houston because it feels insane taking Houston, and the BSPs can't put enough of their children's lunch money on Cincy this week.

The second biggest BSP pick of the week:
Tampa -6.5 over Detroit. Hell, didn't you see what happened to that sorry ass team in Chicago? 6.5 pts is a gift for you Bucs bettors. A gift!

Good luck as always, whatever side you take. This week I'll be laying money on:

Houston +9.5
Detroit +6.5

PS: Both are winless teams coming off a bye. Maybe I don't feel so sick about taking them after all.

Nate,

You have never done me wrong. I will continue to follow what you say. It does feel quite sick though.
