Default MoTown gets funky

$5/10NL PS, full ring. Effective stacks ~$950. Villain is relatively unknown, after abut 45 hands he is ~32/22/3. I haven't been at table long, but have been playing TAG.

2 limpers (Villain in MP and LP) and I check J5o in BB.

Flop (~$33): J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I lead for $30 and both call. Turn (~$122): 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and I lead for $100, Villain makes it $300 to go and LP drops out. I click time...

I've made this exact same raise many times with a flush draw in that spot... But it's a tough call oop w/ a street to go.

Okay, well it looks like most people are in the fold group, which is what I did. Just as the turn came, I told myself I was going to bet and fold to a raise, b/c this just completed the straight. But, then I wanted to not just go with snap judgement, and reasoned through: and the only other hand I could put him on was 54 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], so I figured that there were 16 combos of 76 and only one of 54 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], and folded not having the implied odds to fill. Then, when I looked back, I thought it might have been weak and someone could have been making a move, but atleast most agree with me.

Uh... where?

I don't really see a good spot for a c/r on this one.

mm, maybe on the flop?
if they all check, and a flush/straight card comes out on the turn, then u can fold and u only lose ur bb

if they bet, o well u r most likely good so raise them so they wont have pot odd to call with TPTK/flush draw/straight draw

u bet 30dollars, they can easily call with their draws or jack queen or jack 10 and catch a higher 2 pairs.

they dont nkow how strong you are, but ur hand is strong enough to take it down on the flop. but instead over bet the pot, which is not a good move at all, check raise gets dead money in the pot and cut down their odds.

so i think check raising is good

hope i m not just being result oriented though
