QQ with AA flop
No reads - 1st orbit at the table.
Poker Rewards, .5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) Preflop: Hero is SB with Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5 folds, CO calls, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, CO calls, Button caps, Hero calls, CO calls Flop: (12.5 SB) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, CO calls, Button raises, Hero? OK, so I am probably behind. Should I have checked that flop and folded to a bet, or was the bet out correct? Do you fold to the raise, call, or 3-bet? |

Re: QQ with AA flop
I would fold to the raise on the flop. I don't think there is much that he would cap with PF and raise on this flop that doesn't have you beat. Exception would be if you knew villan was a maniac and would bet medium pairs this way.

Re: QQ with AA flop
I think betting out was definitely correct here. Button's probably got the A but the pot is pretty big so you've got to be pretty sure you're beat to fold. While some players may cap with a bunch of stuff I think that AA, AK, AQ or KK are very likely hands here. I probably call here but I don't like it much.

Re: QQ with AA flop
I would call down against an unknown. The pot is huge, and you only have to win like 1/5 times. He likely has AK or KK, but he could easily have JJ or TT.

Re: QQ with AA flop
Same here. I call down and fully expect to lose. Every once in a while I will get pleasantly surprised, or I will muster all of my poker skillz to spike a Q.

Re: QQ with AA flop
BAH! don't bring up spiking a Q on that board... The nightmare! I had that same flop with QQ in my hand and spiked the Q on the turn. Only to have my opponent be holding AA. So I am the donk betting into quad A's with my measly full-house.

Re: QQ with AA flop
SCfuji, I find myself distacted when reading your posts. Is that Jessica Alba?
Good info folks - Hero called the flop raise. Let's continue: Flop: (12 SB) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, CO calls, Button raises, Hero calls, CO calls Turn: (9 BB) 8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero checks, CO checks, Button checks River: (9 BB) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero? Getting checked through on the turn was a little surprising. Was button concerned with being check/raised? With that in mind, what does hero do on the river? |

Re: QQ with AA flop
This is excellent analysis guys - thanks for all the responses. How about a little hand reading at the end?
River: (9 BB) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets, CO calls, Button calls OK, what are CO's likely holdings? What are button's? Did Hero win? |
