Default Preflop raise amount

I posted this a few days ago in the Mid,-High-Stakes forum without much feedback, so I try here and see what you guys think.

I play 6-max NL usually 2/4.

I almost always raise 4 bb + 1 bb per limper. to $16 first in, $20 with a limper etc.

If I raise from SB, BB with a decent hand that I think is the best, like AJo, I sometimes raise a little extra to make the possibility to win the pot right away bigger.

Does this sounds like a good approach? Other thoughts?

i've been raising using this formula:

PFR = (11 - PositionNumber) + 1.875 * numLimpers + (OpenRaise ? 2 : 0)

Mine has eigenvalues and spherical coordinates, with a Euler's identity thrown in for good measure...

So when you open raise from UTG you are betting 12BB? Jeez that's a lot.
