Default Top pair with flop action before you in big pot.

MP3 is shortstacked with 6 BB
SB is the bothersome one here as he is a pretty good player. My notes indicate he is a 17/14 pf player and is very aggressive after the flop, and will always bet out after a pfr.

Preflop:Hero is cutoff with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

Folded around. MP3 calls. Hero raises . Button folds. SB 3 bets. BB calls. MP3 caps. Hero calls, SB calls, BB calls

Flop: (16 SB) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 players

SB bets. BB raises. MP3 calls. Hero ??

Well heres the point where I shut off my brain. Whats your line?

woo hoo for the cold call and pray it isn't 3-bet behind you. you could 3-bet, but i'd rather not shut down AK/JJ-TT and see what happens on the turn. plus having the K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] really helps.

I'll 3-bet. This pot is too big for you to be focusing on extracting value from SB. If he folds a beaten hand here, that's fine, we're extracting value from BB and a little bit more from MP3.

I'll raise it up. This is a pretty much the flop yr looking for, but still, one worth protecting IMHO.

What do you know about BB? I'd go ahead and 3-bet here usually. A cap will tell you volumes about SB's hand.

Hmm I am shocked at the number of raise comments, as I figured the best play here was to fold given my read on SB as what possible range of hands can would he 3-bet preflop knowing he would be out of position the rest of the hand? JJ and AK are about the only hands I can reasonably see here that I am ahead with. Then factor in unknown BB, Absolute is a farily tight site and a flop reraise usually means something.

Rest of hand.

Flop: (14 BB) J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 players
SB bets. BB folds. MP3 raises.Hero 3-bets.SB caps. MP3 calls $1 (all-in). Hero calls

Flop: (23 BB) 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 players (1 all-in)

I raised the turn hoping to freeze up the SB as I didnt think the raise from MP3 would mean anything and SB would reraise behind me anyways.

As I said in my OP, my brain was off during this hand, even now I cant decide if my turn raise was good or bad. And is my hand going to be good here 4% to make this river call?

Results:
Well this was one of the 96% as SB flips AA for a very nice drag. Little overaggressive I think on his part given the 2 broadways on the board and the preflop action, but maybe thats why I rarely drop huge pots like this

you gotta fold that turn. you're only ahead of TT which isn't likely to 3-bet that flop- FWIW

When it's 2 more on the turn, it's pretty clear you're behind.

I don't think the advice you got to raise the flop was bad. But once it's 2 to you on the turn you have to fold.
