3/6 - QQ out-of-position on an ugly board - 3-bet or fold this flop?
Fairly typical Party 3/6 table. Button in this hand is a LAG (51/16). BB is a TAG, other two have recently sat down and are unknown.
Party Poker (6 max, 5 handed) UTG posts $3. Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. UTG checks, MP calls, Button calls, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG calls, MP calls, Button calls. Flop: (6 BBs) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls, MP calls, Button raises, Hero ? At first glance, I think this is a fold. But what do you think of this line of reasoning: I figure based on this board that I have 4 outs which may result in a split. The remaining two queens give somebody else a straight and are no good. But will raising get a naked King or Queen to fold? If so, then I have 6 outs to win, right? Also, it is the known LAG raising, and he may have as little as a Jack or Ten, and I'm already ahead. I hate Queens out of position. Thoughts? -Ash |

Re: 3/6 - QQ out-of-position on an ugly board - 3-bet or fold this flo
I think I'd forget about being ahead and forget about folding out anyone with a K.
You have to run a parlay of nobody having an A AND the lag not having two pair, which I don't think happens too often. You've represented a big hand by raising the field from the blinds, so I could definitely see Ax just calling you down here. I call the flop, but I'm pretty weak on math so I don't know if you've got odds to chase after that, given that you may be splitting if you do hit. |

Just call the flop and fold the turn unimproved. You have the odds to draw to the straight and you are unlikely to chop since you hold 2 queens.
