Default I think I screwed up the river....

No read on SB.

MP is fairly passive.

CO is fairly LAG -- not a very good "thinking" player in my opinion -- tends to overvalue hands based on how they sound (i.e. capped "TP/TK" on a 874 2-flush board) -- this is also the first hand I've seen him raise preflop, but is usually pretty aggressive postflop

I think call/3-bet is the line I would take here.

EDIT: I always [censored] this stuff up at the table too. So annoying.

I don't see any reason to raise here...

Although it's close now that I look at it again.

1. You're almost always winning this whole pot I think, unless SB has A2 or a variant of that.

2. CO will typically have a hard time folding anything that he raised the turn with.

3. You're not sure if MP is willing to stay in for even 1 bet.

I feel this way as well, with the way betting went on the flop I have a very hard time believing anyone would have stuck around there with a 26 or a 67, way too much action for those weak hands to play, even if they were hearts. Though you may want to call to hopefully get an additional caller or two, but i think you can extract one more bet by raising due to CO likely calling, and possibly SB since he bet out to start.

I raise and expect the CO to call (or possibly raise).

If the CO is not a very good thinking player, can we infer he won't even notice the possible straight on the board? Can we also then infer he would re-raise yet again? Or at the very worst call our raise?

I would think so - I said raise because I am willing to bet (pun intended) that at least one of them will play back.

Calling could get a couple of extra crying calls, raising may cut out a couple of those who might have just called the 1 bet, but might get the others to call 2 bets.

So, er, calling costs you less and makes you more profit long term, whereas raising costs you more when you lose (to a higher straight?) and maybe not even as much when you win?

So my answer was raise, but I am now thinking it should have been call... I haven't read any of the responses yet...

I was basing the "raise" on trying to get more money into the pot, but I know there is more than one way to do that.

Just picked up SSHE tonight woohoo!

Now I am not sure what to do about reading - thinking I should finish TOP before moving on to SSHE - am currently in chapter 12 in TOP... Unless anyone suggests otherwise, I will finish TOP and then move on to SSHE.

Raise!! Only 7h6h is a likely hand to beat you.

If you call you will get MP and CO to call. But if you raise I think you will get either 1 of them to call or both!! I think MP probably has a good hand since he was willing to bet into the pfr, and call for 2 more on the flop (and 2 bets on the turn). He could have something like A3 which he probably won't fold for 2 bets. CO might have as much as Aces up himself, and if he doesn't, there is still a chance he will call for 2.

Finally, SB does not look like he has a deuce so I don't think you are splitting that often.

On the other hand, if CO often overplays his hands, and keeps doing it on the river, he might raise again allowing you to 3 bet, which is even better. I just don't like to count on someone else to raise my hand for me. Either way it looks pretty close to me.

Hero folds preflop. Seriously. That's more messed up than your current avatar.

Hero calls this river and hopes like hell CO raises again. There's no reason to blow out two potential overcallers. You almost certainly have the best hand.

Too bad you don't have a read on the SB here. WTF calls 4 bets on the flop and then bets the turn...

I would raise the river, but I'd give some consideration to a call-reraise.
