Nut flush draw from the BB, PFR from UTG
UTG in this hand was pretty tight and on the passive side, the other players were all LPP. I flopped the nut flush draw, but I wasn't sure if betting out was best or check/call. I thought check/call was best, since the PFR was immediately after me, and I thought the PFR might raise, thus facing them to call 2 cold. I feel like they were more likely to call one on the flop rather than 2.
Is this line of thinking correct? Or since the others were LPP should I just bet out? Or maybe go for the check/raise? Thanks. Re: Nut flush draw from the BB, PFR from UTG
I would check and raise if I can trap some people.
I would check and call if I can't. |

[/ QUOTE ] Because you're about 2:1 to make the nuts by the river. You don't want to fold better aces, because there really aren't better aces than the one that makes the nut flush, here. You're also not folding a king, here, 2 bets or not. |

This helps clear some of your outs, so now instead of having your 9 flush outs you have your 9 flush outs plus 3 Aces and 3 Sevens. |

Which hand ye be happier taking to showdown (and which be more likely), a pair of 7s or aces, or the nut flush, argh! So, ye decide which hand plays better, and ye go with that one! |

You don't want UTG to fold anybody who is paying you to be in the pot. Let him continue on this flop and when the 2 donks in the middle call you can easily trap them for more. |

[/ QUOTE ] There is a pretty good chance UTG has a better A, and if you think he is going anywhere, you are kidding yourself. If he doesn't have a better A, he is still very likely beating you at this point. You bet, he raises and knocks the other two out of the pot. This then requires you to put a bet in when you are at an equity disadvantage. Sure you may clear up A outs if the other two guys fold, but I think valuing your A at 1.5 outs is generous. In this scenario, you have an equity edge from your nut flush draw. You are 38% chance to the nuts, while only having to put 25% of the bets into the pot if everyone sees the turn. Check-Raise to trap is the correct play. |

Yeah check-raising sounds better.
If they call one, they are going to call your raise as well. |
