Setting: live 3-6 game at muckleshoot. UTG+1 and BB are both maniacs, CO is tight passive, everyone else is loose passive. My image is loose and people probably think I'm drunk. I'm actually playing tight/aggressive but I'm saying all the right things. I have A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] in the SB.
Pre-flop UTG+1 raises, UTG+2 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds, Button calls, HERO calls, BB calls and announces he hasn't looked at his cards. I didn't 3-bet because I was out of position and didn't want to get stuck in a huge pot unless I got a hand. UTG+1's raise indicates 2 cards, cold calls indicate any ace, king, or a queen with a 9 or better. 6 to the flop (pot 12 sb) FLOP: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] HERO checks, BB bets, everyone calls, HERO calls I didn't raise because a flop that coordinated had to hit somebody. I called because there were 17 bets in the pot and a king would give me the nuts. I didn't intend to bet the turn unless I hit my straight. 6 players (pot 9 BB) TURN: A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] HERO checks, everyone else checks. 6 players (pot (9BB) RIVER: A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] HERO bets, BB raises, All fold, HERO re-raises, BB calls I was surprised when everyone checked the turn as someone with a straight or an ace would have bet. When an Ace came on the river I was confident that I had the best hand. I re-raised the BB because he still had not looked at his hand. Did I do anything wrong here? Anyone 3-bet pre-flop? Should I have bet the turn? |

PF: I 3-bet. You win this hand more than 1 in 6 times. Get the loose players to put their money in while you have a pot equity advantage.
FLOP: The way you played it, definately check/call. If you had 3-bet, I'd probably check/call or check/raise a late position better to make the field call 2 cold. TURN: I'd probably check and see how many bets it is when it gets back to me. RIVER: If he really hadn't looked at his cards, I'd go all-in if I could. |

I hate acting first into 5 other players. The table had just filled back up and I'm always more comfortable playing short handed. Flop: Even if I 3-bet preflop I knew the BB was going to bet first. This guy was great, saw every hand mostly for a raise and once mucked when I showed a ten high missed straight draw. Turn: I agree I just didn't see anyone calling a bet without having me beat. River: I was willing to put in as many bets as he'd let me. |

Reraise preflop for value, check raise the flop for value.

I agree with re-raising preflop but is it really a value bet to check raise the field with an inside straight draw and 2 overcards? I can't think of any cards I'm really happy to see except for the king.

You have at least 8 outs here on average. 4 for the GS, 2.5 for the OCs, and 1.5 for the BDFD. You'd checkraise an OESD here for value against 5 opponents, right? Pretty much same thing.

So what's a good method for counting possibly tainted outs? Just count half an out or what?

UTG+1's raise indicates 2 cards [/ QUOTE ] Seems like a good reason to 3-bet. |
