Is the 6-max community separate from the full-ringers...?
I'm gonna start playing some 6-max and was thinking about starting a new PT database to handle these games exclusively and start datamining them. Should I even bother doing this, or do full-ringers hit these games frequently as well?
Does it pay to keep PT stats for 6-max and full-ring separate, as the stats seem to be fairly different than what I should be getting in the full ring games? |

Re: Is the 6-max community separate from the full-ringers...?
Hand values change, strategies change, position is more important, playing the players and reads are an even bigger part of your game. 6-max is quite a bit different from full ring games, it would make sense to keep them seperate in your mind.

Re: Is the 6-max community separate from the full-ringers...?
I would say yes, start a new db for shorthanded games. HEFAP talks about how proper play is looser shorthanded, if i'm not mistaken. I usually get out of full ring games when they drop downto 7 or 6 players for too long. that way my full ring stats don't get to tainted. unless the others are just bleeding money, then i'll stay in, screw the stats.
another alternative would be to utilize the filters when you're running game time or elsewhere in pt, that would let you keep the stats in the same db. |

How exactly do you use the filters to do this? I use PokerAce, if that matters.

go to pokertracker.com to get the best answer. i just use a filter and players between 2 and 6 at a table and save it as "6-max".

Re: Is the 6-max community separate from the full-ringers...?
PT can distinguish between full ring and 6max games. Go to the utilities menu, database maintenance and options. Then you can click the 6max button and it'll find all 6max hands. There's no reason to start a new database.

What level(s) have you been datamining full ring at? Do you play the tables after you mine them for a while, or do you just save the data for later use?
