Missed river bet?
Would you be morer aggressive here? Villain has just sat down, the fact that he posted blind affected my play with the straight/flush out there. Shoiuld I have been more aggressive on the turn and river?

Re: Missed river bet?
What hands would you put villain on, where he bets to you on the flop, then check raises the turn? I know I was too passive and should have 3-bet here. I just wonder what he can be raising with?

Re: Missed river bet?
I woulda raised this flop. Not to protect, but for value. Since I have the deck pretty much crippled here is that bad?

Re: Missed river bet?
What exactly do I go to war against? something that beats me? What do you put villain on that will "go to war" with me?

Re: Missed river bet?
Because villan posted and you have no reads he could have a wide range that would "go to war". Two pair or a smaller set are the most likely. Even if he has a strait or flush you have pleanty of outs on the river.
A flop raise and leading the turn would have been my line here. |

Re: Missed river bet?
Your right go to war against what? My answer nothing. What do you think he is holding that beats you?

Re: Missed river bet?
He obviously has the best hand on the flop, but that doesn't necessarily mean that he can't get more money in by slowplaying and waiting to the turn. If my opponents were loose, I might raise and try to get them to call two bets. Try to avoid slowplaying in multiway pots.

What exactly do I go to war against? something that beats me? What do you put villain on that will "go to war" with me? [/ QUOTE ] Think about why he's betting into you. It's usually either 1 of 2 reasons: (A) He's a donk betting a draw or (B) he's got a made hand that he's hoping you'll raise (with high cards) to help him protect against the other two limpers. On the flop if it's situation (A) then you're missing value by not making him pay to draw. If it's situation (B) then you're missing a value (and A LOT of bets) by not raising when he'd be playing back at you with a strong, but second best, hand. |
