What is the worst...
That I need to bet this river for value?
5 handed game, Lakerman opens in the CO. I cold call on the button, both blinds fold. Flop As7cTd. Laker bets I call. Turn 9s, Laker checks, I bet, Laker calls. River Ks. Laker checks... For sake of argument assume that I am capable of cold calling with a wide range of hands here, including some premium ones (and some not so premium). |

Re: What is the worst...
my snap reaction is you only bet what you can safely fold to a check-raise, or 3 bet one with.

Not telling us your cards has gone over well every time.

Not telling us your cards has gone over well every time. [/ QUOTE ] His cards really don't matter for the sake of the question. What's most important here is Lakerman's calling/folding standards on the river. Been a while since I've played with him, so I'm not much help on this one. |

Re: What is the worst...
True, but it's so opponent specific how many people can answer reasonably?
I also hate this phrasing of the question with half in the topic and half in the post. It's a pain in the ass to parse. |

True, but it's so opponent specific how many people can answer reasonably? [/ QUOTE ] Not trying to be argumentative, because I agree with you on this, but in this case, enough MH posters have played with Lakerman to probably give him some decent advice here. Cheers, Nigel |

True, but it's so opponent specific how many people can answer reasonably? [/ QUOTE ] If you wish to participate, then say, "I have never played against Lakerman, but, if I pretend the CO is a solid opponent I would ______." [ QUOTE ] I also hate this phrasing of the question with half in the topic and half in the post. It's a pain in the ass to parse. [/ QUOTE ] "Pain in the ass" seems like quite a stretch, but whatever. |

Re: What is the worst...
[ QUOTE ]
If you wish to participate [/ QUOTE ] I can participate if I choose to outside of your parameters. Following yours, I haven't played you or him, so I can't really say. What is his image of you at this point? Your image of him? If you want responses from only Lakerman opponents, put that in the topic, otherwise provide more info. [ QUOTE ] "Pain in the ass" seems like quite a stretch, but whatever. [/ QUOTE ] At the very least, a topic of "Hand against Lakerman" and then the relevant information in the post would have prevented me from being a pain in the ass. :P |

Re: What is the worst...
I have never played against Lakerman, but, if I pretend the CO is a solid opponent I would bet TQ here and nothing worse.
I hope villain has: 88 or TJ. i dont know if he would call with 88 though and i would only bet TQ if I knew how to handle a checkraise properly. |
