Default Blind WAR

I'm the small blind, folded to me. I have AJ offsuit. I believe my opponent to be a good, winning player. I also think he has been or thinks he can push me around.

I raise.
He three bets.
I cap.

flop comes j 9 4

I bet.
He raise.
I raise.
He cap.

The turn is an 8. there are no flush draws. the board is j984.

I bet again. He raises again. I raise again. He caps. I call.

Rvr is a q making a four card straight.
Chk Chk.

Comments on all streets appreciated.

And he proceeded to show you AA, KK, 99 or some other hand that beats you? Why would you stick in so much money heads-up oop against a good player with just one pair?

Depends on the opponent. Who was it if you don't mind my asking? Seen you around these bigger games on Party.

I'd say you put in too much action unless this guy is a nutjob.

With that flop, in a heads up blind war, you need to take this hand to showdown. However, your turn 3-bet is spraying.

You capped preflop, and he hasn't slowed down at all. After he caps the flop, I'm ready to consider that I may not have the best hand, and sometimes I'll call it down from there. No need to reraise the turn, just call it down when you get popped on 4th street.

I poped the guy again on the turn because i really thought i was ahead, and this guy needs to learn if he wants to mess with me, it will cost him some chips.

And against most of these runover types, I think bet-call the turn bet-call the river is a good line.

Maybe it's me but the first part of that sentence doesn't jibe with the second part if he's giving all that action up to the turn with AK, AQ or some other hand you beat.

Good, winning players try to run you over too. especially at higher limits.

Yeah but this guy has raised you every chance he got which totals 4 times by the time its 2-bet on the turn. And the turn brought in a str8 card so he MUST have a pat hand imo or hes not thinking clearly. I don't know where this was played, but in the CA B&M 15/30-30/60 games I play in your hand is rarely good here and if it is, I wanna get HU with this guy more often.
