I think I misplayed a Royal Flush on the 11s
Knowing that I had the absolute nuts, should I have checked the turn hoping to solicit a bet from my opponent, instead of placing the minimum bet? We were both beyond tight & aggressive the entire way. The only hands I went to showdown with were all premium starting hands and I played less than 25% of my hands over the course of about just over 100 probably, so a bet usually meant I had something. I only made two bluffs the entire tournament and I showed both of them (although one was a semi-bluff, as I had a pair of twos on board that paired twice), as it was nearing ITM play, so I wanted to setup future traps.

The bigger mistake was not raising preflop.

It's fine. Sometimes people hate their hands and won't call no matter how long you wait. I don't really know what hand he would catch on the river than he wouldn't call a half bet on the turn to get.
If he calls this bet, you will probably get paid off when you valuebet the river. |

Without reading the post yet, it doesn't matter at all.
Update: Well, your lack of a PF raise does suck, but other than that, nope. |

If he shows you 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the river, you would feel silly checking the turn.

Re: I think I misplayed a Royal Flush on the 11s
Sometimes when I have a really big hand like this and I don't think the other guy will call, I like to make a tiny, tiny bet. Make it look like you're just trying to pick up the pot. Loads of times they think they will scare you away if they come way over the top of you.

can't always win chips w/ the best hands. but I would keep checking in your situation and try to get him to steal the pot, so at least you get 1 bet out of him. if he doesn't do that, you can valuebet the river.
why no PF raise w/ QKs? |

Re: I think I misplayed a Royal Flush on the 11s
Oops... I forgot to mention the reason for no PFR in my original post. I had been raising pre-flop with some decent hands when we were heads up and when we had just got ITM and each time it would fold back to me. So I figured I would limp in for once to see if I could work something that way.

Re: I think I misplayed a Royal Flush on the 11s
I don't think there's really a misplay here. Anybody with any bit of mind is probably gonna fold to any decent bet with a flush out there and them not having one themselves. Come on...would u call?
