Party 15-30 good but not great game.

TAG (18/10/1.8) raises UTG, Tight (17/6/1.3) player three bets UTG+1, folded to me in MP and I have AKo.

I fold.

Comments? Yeah, the skirt is a little short.

I think AK can still be played profitably here, but you won't go broke folding either.

[/ QUOTE ]it really surprises me to hear you say this, as i understand youve played B&M pro for years? i thought only internet players continued with AKo here? i fold in this spot wiothout a thought.

Well to be honest, online has caused me to change my tune a bit on folding hands like AK and JJ for 3 bets. In a BM against players who I perceived to be very tight, they were sure easy folds for me at 3 cold.

Now, I'm not sure if I've learned something useful or developed a leak, but I have a harder time folding these hands for 3 bets. For one thing, I don't trust the numbers. I trust them to a point, but I've also seen a 6%pfr turn over something like 99 after 3-betting. Also, this forum has gotten to me in general regarding the value of AK and JJ for 3 bets pf. Yeah, you could easily be in trouble, but when you're good (or suckout), you win a very big pot. Like I said, I don't know if this change has improved or worsened my game, but I do know that being willing to play AK and JJ for 3 bets (at least online) hasn't hurt me and probably improved my online results.

Good fold. You're usually behind and these types of players usually aren't going to pay you off much if you outflop them.

only playing AA-QQ and maybe AKs, though i think the AKs is a little close as well.

I chatted with someone I really respect last night and he asked the same question about KK. I told him I play KK there but seriously consider folding QQ, but probably play it as well,(against my better judgement) JJ I fold there against those 2 guys.

Its just one of those rare time I actually folded AK and didnt lose sleep over it.
