Hackers cost me a money finish on PokerStars (no content)
Well, this one is one for the books. I was cruising along staying ahead of the blinds about middle of the field with 200 left during the 10$ MTT on Poker Stars this morning when it happened.
Hackers started attacking my Internet provider and they had to go on the defensive by throwing up some heavy duty firewalls that disconnected me from PokerStars and I got blinded out 19 from the money. This has got to be one of the worst ways to go out of a tournament that you can go through. Helplessy frantically trying to reconnect as you know the antes and blinds are eating your stack as your are sitting out. This was one of my best money tourneys in a long time and poof, it was gone. |

the more I play MTT's, the more I'm considering it. My DSL provides a back up dial up, but presumably that wouldn't help here (it's the same ISP, just a different way to get in).

[/ QUOTE ] This came up in the STT forum, and a poster there pointed out that Juno.com offers a free dial-up account with a limit of 10 hours of access per month. I haven't checked it out yet (and I should), but it would certainly be worth setting up an account and having it for back-up. |

again, another good idea. I do have juno on there that I had to use the other day when I lost power due to an accident nearby. I just was freakin too much to think clearly enough to think of the Juno.

Days later they were each on their own computers at different houses and got booted when they tried to join the same ring game. For this reason, I've been hesitant to play on someone else's computer? Has this happened to anyone else? Is Stars ok with this? |

yep, once you play from the same isp address, you are no longer allowed to play at the same table. I think it is a good policy.
