a Legends of Poker hand (Brunson vs. Buss)
all I can say is... WTF?
With the board showing Js-9s-6d-4d, Doyle Brunson checks to Jerry Buss who bets out $2,000 in chips. Doyle calls. The river is the Js, and Doyle checks again. Buss checks behind him, and shows 9-9 for a full house. Doyle shows pocket kings, and then mucks. I think cardplayer got it wrong, because I cannot fathom checking the river.. |

Re: a Legends of Poker hand (Brunson vs. Buss)
Ive seen Jerry Buss check at these spots before, so cardplayer probably got that rigth. He likes to limp in and check with monsters in order to set up traps.

Not on the river, though, right? |

[/ QUOTE ] Yep, also on the river. He is a tigth player, so most of the time when he bets on the river, he will not get paid of anyway. Jerry Buss is the owner of LA lakers and he likes to play with the best. He is considered a good amateur, but far from a hard core pro, so dont be surprised to see some mistakes from him. |

checking behind is much different than checking out to trap

I personally have never seen someone check after the second Jack of spades fell on the river, but that's just me...

Does anyone know if Chip Reese and Reese Witherspoon are related? [/ QUOTE ] Good question. I have always wondered that. I also lose a lot of sleep trying to decipher whether or not Men Nguyen was that guy from that band Men at Work, but I don't think he was. |
