Default Inducing a bluff

I think this is a real schoolbook example of the case. You agree, or wasn't this play appropriate here?

Villian is 15/6.5/4.4

Party Poker (10 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
5 folds, Villian raises, Hero three-bets, blinds fold.

Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villian checks, Hero bets, Villian raises, hero calls

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
Villian checks, hero checks

Mp3 bets, Hero raises...

if you are checking to induce a bluff then you should just call on the end as villain will only call your raise if you are beat (his stats indicate he is reasonalbe...)

What he said plus I don't like giving a free card to spades or hearts or 8T or fill in your draw here.

You think he is raising PF with 8T?

Villian's stats do not suggest that he is the type to be that he is raising that light. I would eliminate 108 as a possiblity.

You've got to know by now that I always forget to read preflop and just go right to the decision. My bad again. I didn't even know he had raised. I still bet/fold the turn. If I did check, raising the river doesn't makee sense to me.

I agree river raise sucks a lot more than the turn check.

Agreed with everything. Most of the time I bet turn, but I hate getting c/r twice. Either way, b/f turn and call river, not raise. If he is bluffing raising has no point because you are only called when you're wrong.

He is very aggressive after the flop so I was quite sure he would bet any hand at the river.

In my experience some worse players will call the raise with hands like ace high.

You have an excellent point though
