bankroll requirements for Stud

Are the bankroll requirements for Stud the same as Hold Em? I noticed that in Poker Essays one Malmuth stated that the banroll can be smaller for the lower limit Stud games. So is it not still 300X the BB for Stud? (This question goes for Stud 8 as well...)Thanks!

The bankroll requirements for Stud High are in the FAQ. Stud-8, being a split pot game, requires a much less rigorous requirements. 100BB is probably fine.

Honestly, bankroll requirements are relative. It depends on how good you are. And for some people no amount of money is enough... [img]/images/graemlins/shocked.gif[/img]

It depends. If you are reasonably competent, you shouldn't need 300BB, because a lot of players at low limits are very poor indeed. I would guess half of that is likely to be sufficient.

Additionally, does it matter - if you lost your whole bankroll, would you stop playing forever, or would you just go and get some more cash. Certainly, if you could just go and get some other money, you don't need to be as deep.

However, if you're still learning then its probably a good idea to have at least 300BB and probably a bit more.
