Default How big are sng\'s comparing to ring games ?

Hello !

I have this question : to what levels in ringgames would you compare say 100 buy in sng.
For example I estimate that no-limit ringgame is about 8 times bigger than limit with the same blinds.
Take into account bankroll needed, standard winrates, variance etc.
Thoughts ?

I looked in the FAQ, and don't see this answered. What am I missing? I'm curious about the answer as well.
To me at least, this is not just a 'how big a bankroll?' question.

But it is answered, because you can base the FAQs answer on bankroll requirements for whatever other game you usually play.

What I am interested in is "feel" not strict bankroll requirements/winrates etc. For example if I play 5/10 limit I "feel" its smaller than 200NL but 10/20limit is bigger. If I play 100SNG I feel that its bigger game than 200NL but smaller than 500NL etc. Just wondering whats ohter's feelings are.

Best wishes

This is how I understood you. I haven't played any SNGs over $22 (other than heads-up), but so far they all feel smaller than NL$100 ring games to me.

Having played both I'd say 5/10 is probably about the same size as $100 SNGs. BR reqs and win rates should be similar as well for players of equal skill.

Honestly I don't know how well the others match up. I guess 50s are roughly in line with 3/6 but to me they seem bigger.

The $5s are probably the smallest game available on party, the 10s are basically in line with .5/1. 20s, 1/2, 30s are probably around 2/4.

The big difference in the 20s and 30s vs 1/2 and 2/4 is that I think much bigger win rates are possible compared to the limit counterparts.
