I know he won the tournament at Foxwoods on those two hands. That's not the way I play in HU SNGs. I guess that's his style. Maybe Hutter was making such big raises because Le was calling all his raises.

He's doing something right. In addition to Foxwoods and the WPT Championship, he also won the WPT Season 3 Battle of Champions.

i didn't watch that yet!!! [/ QUOTE ] If you're talking about the Battle of Champions, it was filmed at the Mirage in May and was supposed to air in July. At least, that's what we were told(I was at the taping). |

He's doing something right. [/ QUOTE ] Part of what he's doing right is getting lucky a lot. Disclaimer: He's a good player. He's a lot better than me. I'm just saying, he's been lucky even for a tournament winner. I know there's a lot of luck and all, but it sure seems like he's had more than his share. |

that all in call by his opponent earlier on with Ac7c was awful.

that all in call by his opponent earlier on with Ac7c was awful. [/ QUOTE ] Not agreeing or disagreeing with you, but I wonder if you're basing this on what you saw on TV or if you know the action in the previous hands leading up to that point. Temp actually posts here from time to time, maybe he could shed some light on it. |

first off before anything else is said and done temp seems like a nice guy i loved his "we dancin?" comment, i hope to see him on TV a lot more. overall i though he played very well.
Witht the 7s exposed i think i fold this every time after i raised. what i dont like is that he raised 150k and then had to call over 1.2 million more. That 7 makes it an easy fold. I think you could see him convincing himself his opp. had KJ. now that being said, had this been routine, temp raises, opp. pushes, temp folds, i make that call i guess. I understand that tv poker shows us only a few hands and the feel of the tourny is totally differnt. but out of context that was a clear fold IMO. I stress out of context. |

That 8-7 off suckout was awful, I thought the A-K off versus Berman's Kings was a terrible play because Berman's table image was so tight. At best it's a coin flip and is it really worth tangling with the other huge chip stack at that point? Tuan should have used the Henry Tran "I got very lucky" speech after that tourney win.

I think Tuan just doesn't like to fold, especially preflop heads up. I also suspect he's just some mixture of arrogant (assuming he can outplay his opponents) and willing to gamble with the worst of it. It makes for great tv and I'm certain he's a great player, but like Toto Leonidas, he plays loosely and dangerously sometimes to the detriment of his winning chances. I think what Phil Hellmuth said about Toto applies just as much to Tuan Le, that he's reckless.
I would even differentiate the chances he takes with those taken by a guy like Gus Hansen. Gus seems to be willing to give up a small edge for other benefits, such as knocking someone out with a much shorter stack out of a tournament--his call of Lederer's all in reraise in PSI w/ kqo seems along those lines. |
