The only read-worthy factor is that it took him a while to call preflop. Do you like the reraise? Do you feel comfortable calling on the flop? |

Re: Do you like calling this?
I like the re-raise and no, I'm not comfortable on the flop. But I'm going to call. 3 overpairs smaller than yours versus 2 bigger ones. Plus the AK typical push often seen in online MTTs.

Re: Do you like calling this?
I would lean towards making a more committing raise preflop and at least giving your opponent the chance to fold. They usually won't consider folding for another 600 chips when theyve already put in 480.
I'd raise to about 1500 with the intention of getting all my chips in on the flop unless something really terrible happens. However one overcard on the flop won't discourage me most of the time, especially a king. Also I would definitely call the flop, and I don't think its a close decision. |

Re: Do you like calling this?
yea, raise a bit more preflop, and definitely call the flop, feels like 9's, maybe AK. I can't imagine that he'd play A8s this way, or AA or KK. any of those hands and he'll wait for you to bet on the flop. Definitely call

Re: Do you like calling this?
I thought about raising more, here's why I raised what I did:
First, there really wan't all that much preflop reraising except from real monsters. I wanted to allow a hand like AQ, maybe AJ, and hand like 88 to be priced in. I guess I was also pricing in AK, but I didn't care. Second, the reraise actually was almost 2.5x the original raise, so it wasn't a simple miniraise. Third, the raise left me with 3,500 chips and the blinds were still at 120/240. I could get away from the hand if he comes over the top and I smell aces. Fourth, the 3,500 chips gives me considerable FE on the flop. There will be less than 3,000 in the pot on the flop and I will easily drive out an unimproved A-high. I will also easily get called by a top pair hand like AJ, or an unimproved pair of jacks or tens if it comes rags. Thoughts? |

Thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] Kudos on thinking thoroughly about the hand and having a game plan post-flop. Greg H. |

Results...
I didn't think it was a close decision at all and of course I called. Villian flipped over JJ and I doubled up real nicely.
I won this hand and I believe I played it very well, I just wanted to post it to see if there was any other way to look at the situation that I may have missed. The only real critisism that I saw was that I probably should have raised more preflop. I gave reasons why my reraise was not huge, but any other thoughts would be good. |
