Man, come on, getting all uppity on someone for the movie when you got an integral piece wrong? Cruise's call sign in the movie is Maverick.

Ghost Rider, not sure where that comes from, maybe it's a generic term.

You are the one who needs to watch it, apparently.Tom Cruise's call sign in the movie was Maverick, not Ghostrider. All that "negative ghostrider" means is "No", in the colloquial sense; ie you ask me if I would like fries with that, and I could reply with "Negative ghostrider", which would mean that I don't want fries with that.

But since you were being cocky and all, please continue.

The anger this subject has generated is the reason I love the internet.

The callsign Maverick is what Cruise's pilot buddies all call him. It's a nickname.

The callsign the air traffic controller uses to refer to the airplane Goose and Maverick are flying in is Ghost Rider.

Yeah I explained it wrong. As for my "cockiness", I was simply suprised that people hadn't seen the movie. Sorry it came across harshly.
