Deep stacks, calling in position
From this morning's Stars 11r. I don't do this very often. Is this standard?

Re: Deep stacks, calling in position
i'm glad it worked for you, but i think you had no business calling that preflop raise.

absolutely love this play in the rebuys. quite an effective way to steal every chip on the table if you play the image right.

Another poster mentioned something about risk of domination but that only matters if that card actually hits. With stacks this deep I think it's a fine play. |

Re: Deep stacks, calling in position
With a small pair, a suited connector, or an AQ, you can call with little risk. QT is a bad hand to get involved with here. What if you flop top pair and villian has an AQ?
Risk of dominiation is too bad. Fold and pick a better spot. |

Re: Deep stacks, calling in position
You have to pick your spots with this play or you're just chip spewing, but I really like it against the right opponent. Q10 is a fine hand to do it with if you're confident in your hand reading ability against the raiser.

Your own image is an important consideration too. colson10 |

Re: Deep stacks, calling in position
If you're villain in this hand, how do you combat this sort of play?
