KK against LAG, standard play?
Villain bought in short stacked about 4 orbits ago and he and I got all-in with overpairs and split (both pocket J's). Then he dropped his stack to me when I flopped top set and he had TPTK.
He rebought to 2/3 max, won one pot and this hand came up: Villain : VPIP/PFR/AF = 62/8/4.5 Ultimate Bet No-Limit Hold'em, $.25 BB (9 handed) converter MP3 ($25) CO ($23.95) Button ($14.90) SB ($16.10) BB ($23.55) UTG (Villain)/ ($19.35) UTG+1 ($9.15) MP1 ($17.10) Hero ($41.10) Preflop: Hero is MP2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. MP3 posts a blind of $0.25. UTG (Villain)/ calls $0.25, 2 folds, Hero raises to $1.5, MP3 (poster) calls $1.25, 4 folds, UTG (Villain)/ calls $1.25. Flop: ($4.85) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Villain bets $1.85, Hero raises to $7, MP3 folds, Villain calls $5.15. Turn: ($18.85) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) Villain checks, Hero bets $18.85, Villain calls $10.85 (All-In). River: ($48.55) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in) Final Pot: $48.55 Any advice or crticisms to my line. I was a little worried that he would in fact call my raise with only second pair and he might have been going for a check-raise on the turn, but I didn't give him the chance. Was I out of line? Am I only getting called if I'm beat? |

Re: KK against LAG, standard play?
Against a LAG playing 63% of his hands, its difficult to say. (though the 63% reflects preflop play... it doesn't tell us too much about his post flop play)
I prefer to keep the pot smaller with just a pair. bet 2/3 or so each street. With the 2 tens of the board, I also often check on the river (cause a lag will certainly play 10J from any position and likely 10Q through 10A) |

Re: KK against LAG, standard play?
These hand possibilities definitely crossed my mind. And with a limited number of hands I see his AF is >4, postflop.
How do you deal with situations where you have raised preflop and LAG leads into you for 40% of pot? Would you raise ~2/3 of the new pot total? I raised trying to test to see if he had a set or two pair - and I expected he would push if he did. Incidentally, his stack was just about 60% of the pot after the turn, so any bet I was thinking would put him all in. |
