What kind of bankroll do you need to play the $200 MTT's on a regular basis? I have been playing the $30 MTT's for a few months but want to move up. I know the variance is huge. Looking to play 1-2 a day. Do you keep 50X your buy in? $10,000? It seems like you can go long runs without cashing.
What kind of ITM% do good tourney players expect in these 1500-2000 person tournaments. What about ROI - does anyone use these for MTT's?? |

well u have to use ROI for any financial 'investment' or u won't know whether or not u are making or losing money and how much u are making per period (hour/tourney/day/etc)

I usually play the $150 and $200 buyins on Party. I started out with 12K in account before I started to play these tournaments exclusively. You really need a top three finish somewhere in the next 50 games or so. This really helps the BR. I've been boucing between 7K and 15K. I haven't won one of these yet but seem to keep my BR consistent.
ITM% is not an indicator of overall success. I would definitely take one win in 50 trys rather than 20% ITM return. The really money is in the top 3 so that is what you should strive for. I guess a better measure would be final table apppearances. If you could make the final table 10% of the time, you'll do well. Stipe |

As in all investments, diversity is important. If you don't make MTTs your only investment, it is easier to afford them. That is, cash games for lower return, but more consistent return and less risk, and MTTs for high risk, high reward.
