After trying to convert the hand i now have two questions. first off this isnt a bad beat post, I am just looking for some tips on how to play hands like that where you have an overpair with a rag board and comments on how I played this particular hand, bc as you can prob tell im lost most of the time. and while i was trying to convert this hand i couldn't get it to show the betting during the hand, any idea what i did wrong? thanks |

I think I would have led the flop for a pot-size bet and I don't think I would have put in that third raise on the turn.
The flop check/call followed by the turn check/raise is an indication of strenght, I think. Unless you have a read on him that he likes to bluff when a potential scare card hits, I'd proceed with caution. |

yeah he made it very clear that my 99 was no good, i just was ignoring the signs for a hand.

what do you think you are beating after he raises the turn? You have 1 pair and the board is paired. Anyone with a 4 has you killed. You minraise his raise, which is pure cheeze anyway, and he RAISES that. You are crushed, let it go. You've shown strength, he doesn't care, the most reasonable hand to put him on is a set, or at least a naked four. Don't forget he could even have 10 10.
