here's the thing with gummo for me: i thought the story was actually ok and the movie was done well just as kids was but unlike kids i cringed the entire way through this thing which makes me not want to see it again.

maybe if i drop a couple of tabs and then watch this movie...

I think the movie had its desired effect then, which is why I felt it was well done.

umm, there was an actual story ? i missed that.

it's one of those movies that is interesting just for the sake of seeing it, but i wouldn't recommend it. i have mixed feelings over it, i can appreciate it for its 'weirdness' for the sake of being weird and the images created to disturb, yet knowing that was the intention without much real substance. in that sense, it worked. but it's also just too obviously done for shock value or whatever (midgets and retards etc kids killing cats etc) to read too much into it.

i agree about the scene with the twins being creepy, and like eating spaghetti in the tub etc. , a lot of the images definitely have a lasting impression and makes you feel disturbed, which i guess is the point.

nope. korine wrote Kids, but wrote and directed Gummo (which is, well, interesting.) Larry Clark directed Kids (and got a story credit)
