i just had to post this cause i can't think of a worse beat than the one that happened to me today.
i'm just thankful i play such low stakes. hero is UTG with KK villian is CO with Ac2c Hero raises $3 Villian calls Flop comes K55 rainbow Hero checks Villian bets $5 Hero pauses for a moment as if thinking about whether to call, then calls. Turn is a 5 Hero bets $4 Villian immediatly goes all in for $34 hmmmmmmmm Hero calls Turn is, of course, the very last five in the deck. Villian scum wins $84 with four of a kind, Ace kicker Seriously, is there any worse beat than drawing dead to one out? |

never slowplay?
he bluffed all in on the turn idiot, and as for the rest of your worse bad beats, i gotta say they aren't as bad as mine. first off, all he had was Ace high, if he had one of the fives it would be a different story, if he had a suited connector to make a straight flush he had a piece of the board, the bad beat i mentioned the guy only had an Ace!! he had no piece of anything, you guys are talking about small pocket pairs turning into quads, and straight flush draws filling, i'm talking about a sucker using his lone Ace to take the pot with Quads that he didn't deserve. Maybe it's just me, but those are not nearly as bad as my example. At least they had a hand, my guy had Ace deuce, what the hell, i had Kings full. |

Alan Goehring had a very similar beat laid upon him (by Kirill Gerasimov) in the WPT season 1 finale. Heads up, he's on the button with KK and just completes, Kirill checks with A4d. ($25k BB, ~100BB stacks). Flop J77, check, check. Turn 7, check, Alan pots, Kirill calls (with no draw). River 7, Kirril (over)bets $200k and Alan makes the crying call, losing a $550k pot.

Yeah, Kirill Gerasimov, expert player who doubles up the top fullhouse with no pair / no draw after taking like a 2-1 chiplead.
