Default Under boat vs. LAG.

Villian (covers) is UTG and 65/17 after 200 hands. He is capable of making moves post flop but is otherwise quite bad (calling bets w/ MPNK etc.) Haven't seen him do anything totally crazy though. Hero is button w/ $57 and 8 8.

Party NL50 Full ring

Pre-flop

UTG raises $1, MP calls, Hero calls.

Flop ($3:50) 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)

UTG checks, MP checks, Hero bets $2:50, UTG check-min.raises to $5, MP folds, Hero makes it $13 (!?!?!?), UTG calls.

Turn ($29) J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

UTG checks, Hero bets $15, UTG puts hero in for $28 more, hero calls.

Thoughts?

What? This all looks pretty ABC to me. Am I missing something? You put pressure on him on the flop by reraising. Not too much because you want him to stick around. You bet the turn, villian pushed and you called. If he has 9x and hit his x card for a better boat, that's poker. 9x isn't going away no matter what you do, whenever you do it. What you want is for them to call you down or get stacked the times that they have straight and flush draws that hit, or an overpair they can't let go of.

Just checking. Villian showed JJ and he sucked out on the turn.
