Interesting Student\'s Hand.. ATo on Bubble
Hey guys. This is a students hand. It's a 20+2. I've never seen a situation quite like this, and I'm not exactly sure what I'd do. I think my judgement might be off because I saw the opponents hands before deciding.
Thoughts? Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t100 (5 handed) converter Hero (t920) UTG (t370) MP (t2490) Button (t1510) SB (t2710) Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG raises to t370 (All-In), MP calls t370, 1 fold, SB calls t320, Hero? |

If you think the hand is likely to get checked down, I would consider calling.

[/ QUOTE ] That's fine if you had a larger stack. But if you call, miss, and get bet out of the pot, your stack has really take a significant hit. I'd be much more apt to call if I had 1300+. |

Re: Interesting Student\'s Hand.. ATo on Bubble
The problem with calling is that if you call and lose you are a serious disadvantage with respect to the Button as far as stack size.
Stack fold = 820. Stack call & lose = 550. Stack call & win = 2030. So basically you're risking crippling yourself to be tied for first in a for way pot. In other words, by calling and losing you are two double ups out of the race instead of 1. I'm expecting one of my 3 opponents to have a pair and I'm also expecting at least one of my ace outs to be dead. I think this is a fold. |
