Default DN slams Greenstein

Some interesting quotes from DannyBoy's latest blog:

"That took me till about 1:15pm giving me a few minutes to prepare for my $500,000 Pot Limit Omaha match vs. Tony Bloom, a successful European sports bettor in addition to being an accomplished poker player.

In the early going I ceased a marginal lead of about $100,000. Tony fought back, though, and we swapped leads for a while. At one point he had me down about $200,000, but I changed gears at the right time and pulled even.

I'd already played a Pot Limit Omaha match recently against Barry Greenstein , but this match was completely different. Tony was a lot more aggressive and a lot more knowledgeable about correct heads up PLO strategy. He had me guessing on several occasions."

....

"So with the win that puts me back in the plus. I've played nine matches thus far completing seven of them with two matches pending. I'm 3-4 in the completed matches and am leading both pending matches for a balance of +$419,000 after 79.5 hours. For those counting, that's an hourly rate of $5270.44 an hour."

If you interpret the bolded quote correctly, DN is saying that Barry doesn't belong at the same table -- or maybe even in the same casino or city -- as DN when it comes to HUPLO. I would call that a slam. Or at least a diss.

I like how Daniel's HUPLO strategy is automatically the definitive "correct" one.

Yeah, but I think DN is correct here. I think Barry would be perfectly happy to admit he knows next to nothing about HU PLO and DN probably outplayed him that match, like Barry beat him in Stud.

This is a slam...

challenge match #7 daniel vs. barry stud8 *part 3*
Where: The Wynn
Time: 9:00 PST tonight
Game: 7card stud hi/low with an 8 or better qualifier
Amount: $500,000
Stakes: 4000-8000

1:15- Daniel wins the match with aces.

-Travis

I think DN is ahead now in his heads up matches. He beat Tony Bloom for 500k in PLO yesterday and Barry Greenstein for 500k today.

Another thing we can take out of this blog is that DN is making more per hour than the best players in the big game. Sklansky said on this board a while back that the best big game (4K/8K) player could expect to make half a big-blind per hour (~4K). DN is making $5K+ per hour, so he is making more per hour than those in the big game.

I think DN is staking a claim as one of the preeminent cash game players of the modern era.
