Default Finding Softer Seats in AC

So this weekend i went into the borgata and played 3/6 for a few hours and after a few bad beats strung together i was tired of playing at the borg and needed a change of scenary to get my mind relaxed. So i started thinkin about where i should go. I came to the conclusion i'd play at a casino i knew had a terrible poker room, bally's. I went to ballys and sure enough there we maybe 10 tables going and nothing over 3/6 limit (maybe there was one 10/20 game now that i think about it). So i sit down and play and i ran into the fishiest group of players i've seen yet in AC.

I happened to be sitting next to a regular of bally's 3/6 who told me bally's was clearly the best place to play low limit holdem because no serious poker player would ever come to ballys to play. They'd go to borgata or tropicana or taj. This just confirmed in my head the idea of why i came to bally's in the first place. Am i completely dumb for thinking this? cause i feel like its a logical thought.

Also any other totally jokes like this in AC?

(and no flaming that all low limit is a joke because i realize compared to your high stakes it is)

You are obviously new here. Take a look around you and you will see how ridiculous that statement is.

JBB- Dude, nice avatar...

To the OP: Your theory makes some sense, however I must say that the 3/6 games at Borgata are awesome. They may dry up a smidge early morning and before 2pm, but trust me, there's mucho $$ to be made there if you play goot. The rake is pretty intense, but they're still beatable. 6/12 is nearly as soft, maybe a little tigher and more passive, but those traits are exploitable in their own rights (didn't hit the flop? No matter... bet and the 70 year olds will fold unless they made TPGK or better!). Anyhow, good luck to you and welcome to the forum. Let us know when you'll be in AC next, as many B&M forum posters are there on a semi-frequent basis.

On my first trip to play my first live poker (ever) games in AC I got busted at Bally's. Sleazy poker room, but my girlfriend liked it cause you could smoke there. Frankly, there are no fishiless games in a casino for limit poker unless it is a big limit. Donkeys are everywhere, at all the casinos in AC. It's just unbelievable how some people play poker and how they think. They are there to gamble. I can't wait to go back.

Nope, that a less pleasant, less talked about room could be softer makes sense.

Seems reasonable enough. Not that I'd take a 3/6 B&M regular at his word for anything, but the OP had his own experience confirm it. So, bottom line, he's sharing a little knowledge with the forum, alebit not very exciting knowledge. Hence my original reply.

My own smart alec comment was related to his final statement only which was silly since there are more low limit players at 2+2 than anything else, but his observations were valid. All over AC you will find soft play, but I would venture to guess that the low limit play at Ballys is possibly even softer by a small percentage.

for the record i wasn't tired of bad beats. I'm a 3/6 or 1/2 NL player, i'm use to the bad beats. Just wanted a change of scenary really and then thought this made sense.

and bally's did rock cause i could smoke.
