This is from a Party 22.
I do this sometimes when there is enough limpers to make it worth it. I had only played 1 hand before this, so I should of had a tight image if anyone was paying attention. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t30 (9 handed) converter MP2 (t75) MP3 (t730) CO (t620) Button (t325) Hero (t827) BB (t1355) UTG (t2540) UTG+1 (t753) MP1 (t775) Preflop: Hero is SB with 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG calls t30, UTG+1 calls t30, 2 folds, MP3 calls t30, 1 fold, Button calls t30, Hero raises to [t827] (all-in) t15, [i], |

It's pretty much impossible to have a tight image this early, and a millisecond after your push, you have a crazy image.
At a $22, I think you will get looked-up by a wide range of hands. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a profitable play if the limpers fold 4 out of 5 times? That assumes that I lose EVERY time someone calls, which of course is not true.
Let's assume only AK, AQ or an overpair will call me here. The worst case scenario is the overpair calling, which would make me a 4.7:1 dog. Against AQ/AK I'm a 1.7:1 dog. Obviously, I don't want a caller here. . . but my point is, I think I'll win the pot outright at least 4 out of 5 times. Keep in mind, I RARELY do this. . . I'm just wondering if I should never do this. |

didn't do math but who cares if you win a hundred or so 4 times? the 1 time you get out you're completely done and buyin gone

I think you should do evrything bluff like that and bluff in pots and so an but not often.
And you must have good timing when you do them . What i think. |

You could probably achieve the same scare level with a raise to 300-400. The only one who might call would be the 325 stack (but he'd be in the same position if you pushed.) Plus if you bluff with fewer chips, it doesn't have to be successful as often to be profitable and you're not out if someone goes with you.

I think I'll win the pot outright at least 4 out of 5 times. [/ QUOTE ] I think that estimation is a bit off. I would guess that you will get one caller around 30-40% of the time. probably more. And you hand is awful. On a Stars $10+1 today, I saw 22 v. 44 v. JJ v. A10 go all in PF on the second hand. granted, an extreme example, but you should widen that calling range a bit. |
