I think that's a standard fold against an unknown UTG raiser. Leading may have been better, but who's to say he won't raise with AK? I think the fold is fine.

Id check raise this to see how much UTG likes his hand, make it like 600.
If you lead, hell probably raise on that board and put u on the defensive. If you CR that flop, he calls and u lead turn..hes most likely mucking his overpair. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree. There's just too few hands for him to be afraid of and 22 or 66 will often slowplay. In fact this causes problems with a check raise whatever he has because he could just decide you can't take any heat. The only way a check raise puts a reasonably tenacious opponent in difficulty is if he's worried about button. |

After thinking about this hand, i agree that an overpair would prolly call the lead on turn. But i still think CR'ing that flop is correct. I apologize for my over aggression.

Hand values go way up in 6-handed hold 'em, don't forget. UTG could easily be making a continuation bet on two big cards on such an innocuous flop. I prefer to lead out $200 and claim the pot. Do your own betting, as I don't feel comfortable risking letting a free card peel for two opponents. I'd consider a check-raise if you were heads up.

Garland [/ QUOTE ] i hate leading out on this board, i much prefer a check raise. leading out SCREAMS medium pocket pair on this, the most innocuous of all flops, ever. AK might reraise you, knowing exactly what's going on, that a medium pocket pair is testing the waters against the preflop raiser. if i had AK and someone led, i'd raise. if they had a 2 they'd get 600 from me on a bluff but chances are i'm taking the pot when i raise... therefore this board sucks for 99 but it's 6 max. i'd check raise and slow down to a screeching halt if called. |

[/ QUOTE ] We're not all like you, and I feel that most will lay down their two big cards (not necessarily AK, but KQ or KJ as well) with two opponents. Of course I'm willing to lead if I actually had the 2 or a 66 full house as well. Granted I haven't played the 10/20 blind games, so I'm not completely familiar with their aggression and who is capable of what. Garland |
