Looks like AK based on BB flop betting. But how close to never is 1/23? This is one of those "don't fold for 1 bet in a big pot" deals.

But 1/23 is a very big number compared to never. I think I would make the crying call instead of the funny fold. But I like the idea of a complimentary term to the former.

They're nearly a full big bet apart.

You know, I see that a lot these days on the forums. It seems that making the crying call in the big pot is now looked down on.

One thing you have to remember is that human nature is working against you here. When bad things happen to you, your natural reaction is to try to avoid those bad things. So when you make this call, and ten times in a row you lose, you start thinking, hey, I'm never good here. I'll just start folding every time and save myself a big bet.

Well, you are good here sometimes. Why can't the big blind hold a hand like KQs? He bets figuring 2 pair is good at now. He's out of position, figures he can fold to a raise, and says to himself that they'll call with more hands than they'll bet. Is it so hard to imagine? Can't he just maybe have a missed club draw and he's just taking a wild stab at the obviously very scary river in this huge pot?

Yes, when you call, you often lose. Maybe you lose more than 95% of the time even. I'm not sure. I know it's a tough situation with long odds. What I don't think is that this is the easiest fold ever. If it's a fold, it's very close.

Personally, I pay off.

Good luck.
Eric

There's only one combination of KQs left.
