A tale of two all-in calls with draws (as done by the pros)
I thought about posting this to the WPT folder since Matt Matros and Paul Phillips are players you may have seen on TV, but figured you might get a saner discussion here with out the trolls who habitually post there.
http://www.mattmatros.com/2005_06_01...al_archive.htm (see June 29 entry) and http://www.livejournal.com/users/extempore/102173.html Both players made calls based on pot odds/pot equity. Matros was calling a short stack's all-in close to the bubble, while Phillips was trying to build a stack so that he could make some plays at an exploitable table. I don't mind either call entirely. Heck, I have done similar things in the past, but only when I have as good a read as Matros and Phillips claimed to have. |

Paul P can't find a better spot for all his chips than check calling all with with a J-high flush draw?
