Congrats to Phil Ivey!!!
Date / Time: 2005-06-29 01:47:00
Title: Phil Ivey Wins Event #27 ($5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys) Log: Hand 290 - Ivey has the button, he limps, and Williamson checks. The flop comes 8-7-4, Williamson bets $40,000, Ivey raises, and Williamson calls all in. Ivey shows 10d-6c-5s-4c (ten-high straight), and Williamson shows Ac-8c-2c-2h (pair of eights). The turn card pairs the board with the 4h, and Williamson needs to catch a two to stay alive (2 outs). The river card is the 3s, and Robert Williamson III is eliminated in second place, earning $353,115. Phil Ivey wins Event #27 ($5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha with Rebuys), earning $630,685 and his fifth World Series of Poker bracelet. What a great job by Ivey... just awesome. Will make for some incredible TV. |

Re: Congrats to Phil Ivey!!!
Definitely.
I'm more impressed by Williamson, though. What is this, the fourth or fifth straight year with a top five finish in an Omaha event at the WSOP? Williamson really must be the best American Omaha player in the world. To be honest, I was rooting for Williamson, though. Nice guy, who deserves more than one WSOP Omaha title. |

Re: Congrats to Phil Ivey!!!
Yeah, Williamson's record is great, but Ivey's isn't too bad either. This is his second PLO bracelet.
