Final Table Bubble
$50 Buy In, 12 players left, NL Hold em
Villian in hand has bet the last couple of flops that I checked to him after I completed in the SB. Table is currently 6 handed. I have 70K villian has 72K. Blinds 3K/6K Folds to me in the SB. I get Q2o and complete (my plan is to check raise any flop since I'm sick of this guy stealing from me). Villian checks his BB. Flop comes down T52r. I check as planned. Villian bets out 12K. I figure he's stealing with random cards. I decide to stop and go push instead of CR'ing all in since the turn card could scare him and make him fold. Turn comes 3. I push for about 50K. Comments? |

Re: Final Table Bubble
I find getting tricky like this when everyone has small stacks compared to the blinds just never really works that well and will cost you your stack more often than you will pick up some chips. I just muck this one preflop and wait for a better hand and better position.

Re: Final Table Bubble
It's a bad idea to build a pot here because villain is short stacked and so he easily becomes pot committed and/or has pot odds to justify calling your bluff. I'd much rather just push preflop into him or complete with the intention of betting out 2bb on any flop.

Re: Final Table Bubble
i like a c/r much better than a stop and go. the turn card is much more likely to make his hand than scare him.
