How is this line AA on monotone flop?
Should I just bet this river? I figured either i was way behind and would pay off a raise, or more likely he just missed his fd and I might induce a bluff.

Fine, you bet the turn planning to fold to a raise right?

Re: How is this line AA on monotone flop?
Bet the river. It sounds like he flopped one heart and one pair. Probably the heart is big and the river didn't help him. You'll lose a lot of bets by checking here because you've made too big a case for yourself for any worse hand to bet for value or as a bluff. No one expects you to fold your overpair.
On the other hand, if he flopped two pair or a set he is apparently in calldown mode in case you have the flush. But he won't let you get away with checking the river so it doesn't matter what you do in this case. Do whatever you want if he raises. It won't happen often enough that calling the occasional raise will make betting unprofitable. It's even possible that a straight will miss the raise, especially if it's on the bottom. Many players will put you on the big flush and raise almost nothing here. |
