Hmm, perhaps my perception is off because I am seeing this in HH form.
The worst thing you did IMO is limp in with 66. I often push this flop in your position after check check. I often get knocked out this way. I dont think you can fold vs the small stack like that. In short, this is a hard hand to play and by no means makes you a donk. |

I would raise, but only because I feel I have the experience to play it properly post flop. I would prefer fold it preflop then I would limp with it. Depends a lot on how many tables are running at the time, and if I have any other hands going. If I dont have the mental space in my brain to play 66 properly post flop then I fold it.(meaning I have a few other tables going with live hands) I will officaly retract my statement. I fully expect most to feel limping with 66 here the proper move. I do not, but I dont have the smarts to explain why. Perhaps I am wrong, but just try to stop me. |

I really see no reason to fold this pre-flop. If you can see a flop for cheap early with any PP, I think it's usually a good idea to. Just play it for set value. I like raising less than folding or calling because I think if you get your raise called, you'll rarely be any less than a coin-flip favorite. Conversly, by limping, you don't mind this since you are playing for set value and stand to gain more chips via better hands coming in to see a flop (assuming you hit your set. Otherwise, you can get out of the hand for cheap). I think it's too early for trying any fancy post-flop play with a hand this weak. You'll be better off just playing it for set value via limping / calling a small raise pre-flop, IMO.

[/ QUOTE ] I am going to yield because I won't be able to convince you otherwise, and I am sure you will recieve more support then I will. I have been in a atrocious mood today, and I think I am trying to pick a fight. To explain myself would take several paragraphs and I believe the post would be - EV in the long run for myself. In short I am the donk! |

I don't think raising is necessarily wrong but it's high variance and I hate being OOP with it when the button coldcalls, so I limp and flop sets and stuff. It may be more wrong with 800 chips, or more right if the 33's have tightened up, whichever. If you are confident you can make the right continuation bets and check/fold at the right times I think it's fine or at least not a big deal.
PS: 3 bet push the flop. You don't want the A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] checking behind when he misses the turn, and open pushing a blank turn is just a waste. |
