Default 1st hand of the WSOP ME, reraised allin pf you have KK. Easy fold?

6600 players. 25/50 blinds. Everyone has 10k in chips. UTG raises to 250. Folded to you on the button. You raise to 1250 with KK. Blinds fold. UTG reraises allin. You've never seen this player before.

This has been discussed before. For me, you are going to need a stack at this tourney. Below is not totally accurate as there is no way that villain's cards are completely random for an all-in pre-flop. But still, KK looks pretty good. All that said, I'm calling and I'm hating myself til Villain turns over QQ.

Text results appended to pokerstove.txt

12,585,434,400 games 24.500 secs 513,691,200 games/sec

Board:
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 82.3957 % 82.12% 00.28% { KK }
Hand 2: 17.6043 % 17.33% 00.28% { random }

Whats the point of listing KK's equity against a random hand. Clealry the villain's hand is not random.

Anyway, I would fold. There, I said it. For the people who said it's an easy call, how deep do the stacks have to be for you to fold KK preflop to an all-in? If 200bb isnt deep enough, then what is?

Haven't you guys read Harrington on Holdem? He says just call with KK, occasionally they'll have AA but what is more likely is they surprise you with AKs or QQ. He says you'll run KK into AA like 1/24 hands or something like that and you just have to suck it up when it happens.

This thread is actually quite different than the thread you reference. The other thread talks about an open raiser all in on the first hand of the tourney. In this one, you actually get a re-raise in and the utg player goes all in.

This is an easy fold in my oponion. The utg player will almost always have AA in this situation. He's waited all this time to play in this one event, do you think he's putting his whole tournament on the line pre-flop in the FIRST hand without AA? I would tend to doubt it. QQ seems silly here and any other hand for utg is downright insane.

I've never folded KK pre-flop in a tourney but in this situation, I wouldn't even think twice.

Peace

Goodie

maybe he doesn't want to see a flop with QQ/JJ or AK. Maybe he's a donk and thinks that he'll get a worse hand to call w/ JJ. Maybe he wants to be funny and he'll turn over 27o. Maybe he's rich. Maybe he's a pro. Maybe 10k isn't a lot of money. of course, maybe he has AA. Too many maybe's to fold KK from a strictly EV point of view. I wouldn't instacall, and I might even fold if I cared about "the experience". But I'm going to be more likely to call here than not.

plus you would have a sweet story if he did have AA (and you sucked out or you went out on hand 1)
