Default Stealing with small PP, hitting the flop

I'm particularly interested in hearing comments on the preflop and turn plays. Very little read on SB but he's extremely passive post-flop, 44/12/0.62 with only 35 hands.

Preflop is standard IMO, unless the button is VERY loose I am always opening here.

And yes I would go crazy on that board. SB is very likely to have an overpair on the flop, some people give way too much action with AA, even passive players will I think.

I'd call turn 3-bet

i know when i first learned about blind stealing and blind defense (and probably still to this day) I did/do some pretty wacky [censored] in stealing hands and lose lots of money for it. so I don't think the post-flop passive read does too much good (especially sicne it's just over 35 hands).

preflop is definitely good, though I may have just called that 3-bet on the turn. The cap is probably okay at this point since you can't get re-raised and he could have hit two pair or something, but i'm not so in love with my set anymore.

on the flop i would assume the SB had a high pocket pair so would have played the flop the same as you did, although the turn would raise an alarm for me because the SB could have possibly made a set of kings so probably would have just called the 3-bet. although when the board pairs and he slows down, that would have given me the green light to bet, leaving me thinking he possibly had AA, or maybe QQ.

I call the 3-bet on the turn. Three hands have you beat (88,99,KK). All of them make sense considering his play thus far.

You beat AA,QQ,JJ,TT. I can't think of another hand he would play this way. Maybe if he was more aggressive K9, but you say he is passive.

Now when I see this turn bet, I'm assuming he is going to come out firing on the river again, which he ends up not doing. If he's a passive player, he's not always going to play TT,JJ,QQ, and even AA this aggressively. Let's say he plays them this aggressively 70% of the time, which I think is high. Then the cap is -EV, because he is more likely to have one of the hands that has you you beat.

Preflop is standard. Turn is as well.

What a nice thing to happen while you're semi-stealing. He probably was playing back at you to prove a point. Maybe he even caught a piece of the flop or was holding AK?

NH.

I might not cap the turn. I think by that point he knows you're not simply continuing with a steal.

Sounds like general consensus is mostly on the side of calling the 3rd bet on the turn.

Does it change anything if I add that my table image was super-tight, stupid-aggressive? According to what I've been seeing with GT+, my table image (mostly at 1/2 and 2/4 on Party) has been something like 12-15% VPIP, 8-15% PFR, 6.0+ aggression (often infinite) quite frequently recently. One of the things I obviously need to work on is playing a few more hands when situations warrant, and not assuming the other guy's got crap the entire time.

The turn is an easy cap. You have a set heads up and no straights or flushes are possible. I cannot believe people would slow down here.
