UTG raises, UTG+1 calls, 1 fold, Hero 3-bets, 6 folds, UTG caps, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls.

Flop: (13.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
UTG bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises, UTG calls.

Turn: (8.75 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets, UTG raises, Hero calls.

River: (12.75 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero calls.

i know this is a faily boring hand, anything wrong with preflop?

Your preflop play is fine. Recognize though that you stand a very good chance of being either tied or beaten by the turn given the preflop action. If the utg player has reasonable raising standards, his utg raise followed by a cap indicate a very strong hand. Hands I'd play this way in this situation would be AK, AA-TT. Of those, you beat only QQ and TT when the turn comes. Once he c/r the turn, you are almost certainly winning 1/2 the pot at best. FWIW, I play this the same way you did.

I think this is a fairly standard range to cap preflop, since it's rare for a player to cap with worse would a WA/WB line be more profitable here?

AA and KK - Lose.
QQ, JJ and TT - Most players will fold the turn unimproved.
AK - Tie.

What do you think?

I was thinking about the flop, by raising we lose lots to AA and KK, tie with AK and fold out TT-QQ. I know the turn this time changes things but it wont happen very often.

Would it be wrong to call the flop?

That would be a good play, I think, as you're either way ahead or way behind his most likely capping hands (or tied with AK).

I think it might be better against an utg capper to just smooth call all the way, tossing in a bet if he checks anywhere.

The drawback is that you probably lose a bet by not raising against the (many) bad players at 2-4 who would cap with AQ, AJ, AT, 99, 88, 77, KQs...and so on.
