I don\'t have the bankroll for 20/40 but it\'s a better game than 10/20
At my local casino the 20 game is the highest game spread and the game is so good and much easier compared to the 10/20 game. I could stand to lose a grand no problem but if I do I probably won't be back for a month or 2. Should I risk playing in it and going bust?

If losing a grand would force you to quit going to the casino for a month, you likely don't have the bankroll for 10/20 either.

But just losing $1,000 would make me not want to play as high for a few weeks. It's kind of like taking a shot at a higher limit. |

I don't really understand your post, then. Losing $1K can easily happen in one bad afternoon at 20/40. If losing it would bother you that much I would recommend against "taking a shot." Just my $.02.

[/ QUOTE ] I know 1k is nothing in 20/40 and I don;t really care if I lose it. I was just trying to decide what limit to play when I go there so I made that post looking for any help. It's just a weird situation that the 20/40 game is 3-4x better than the 10/20 because 20/40 is the highest game spread. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree. Typically, if I am going to take a shot at a larger game--which I think most players should do from time to time, provided they can stand to lose part of their bankroll--I will take say 20BB's into the game and tell myself "I will play for x amount of time." |

[/ QUOTE ] Let me get this straight... you have a 750BB+ bankroll (!) for 20/40... and you are afraid of losing one buy-in? Have you played poker before? If it sounds like I am being a jerk you should probably look at how absurd your statement is instead. |
