Just like when the $1K games opened up, I am seeing a lot of seemingly fishy play going on. Is this just a symptom of the game being new or do these guys stick around? I've never played the $1K or $2K games because I only have a handful of buyins online at those limits.
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (4 handed) converter saw flop|saw showdown ($1200) BB ($1271) UTG ($2022) Button ($1706) Preflop: posts a blind of $10. Flop: ($30) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, UTG bets $136, BB calls $136. Turn: ($302) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, UTG bets $75, BB calls $75. River: ($452) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, UTG bets $558, BB calls $558. Final Pot: $1568 Results in white below: doesn't show. BB has Ac Kh (three of a kind, sixes). UTG has 9c 9s (full house, sixes full of nines). Button doesn't show. Outcome: UTG wins $1568. Does anyone else play this the same as either of these guys? I suppose it's possible these guys know something about each other which causes them to play in ways that look odd but I am seeing it all over the place. I watched another hand where all three players at the table saw the flop for no raise, there was no action on the flop, then a minimum bet on the turn which was called then raised by juuuust a touch over the minimum, everyone calls, the flush completes on the river and suddenly one of the callers (the winner of the above hand whose bets obviously signal his hand strength... even I've picked up on that in a dozen or so hands) bets the pot and gets paid off in two places by single pairs. What the heck? I need to spend more time in the $400NL games and try to move up. Can these games really have as many bad players in them as it seems? SpaceAce |

One explanation could be the transference of limit players to NL. Although I know very little about limit play, I do know that the limit mentality is akin to what most of the NL fish do. In limit you have to showdown your hand a LOT more. Plus, the requirements for showing down are a lot less.
Calling down with bottom pair or ace high is routine in limit. What these players fail to realize is that it will cost them a lot more to hope and play that their hand is good. Also, the requirements in limit for just calling a flop bet is much less. They fail to adjust to the size of the bet in relation to the pot. Hence the calling of bet sized bets with thin draws. The biggest problem IMO is the inability to laydown. In limit, top pair is going to showdown 95% of the time. Hence the players who get stacked with a paired AK all day. Edit: Funny anecdote. Playing NL with a limit player. Limit player is in a hand with a rock who's just raised all in. I knew the rock had the nuts and so did most of the table. Limit player agonizes for like 5 mins, and turns over his two pair. The rock tells him to throw it away. Limit player pulls out like 1k to rebuy, then says "call". He then loses to the nut strait, then rebuys. |

It was my experience, that Party Poker has players that will chase down flushes all day long, and players who get very proud of their hands preflop and stick with them even if they don't improve. Love those guys, hate the flush chasers because Party seems to dish them more frequently. To the point where you some times wonder if its worth making a bet with a pair or trips when there are 2 suited with the turn and river to come. This is when it pays to have a little info. on your opponent. Party Poker has a knack for creating this kind of action, so it behooves you to be very careful when betting if your opponent will call a bet to try and catch.

Boourns to both of you and your unhelpful, childish comments. If you are going to waist my time clicking on your useless post and make me wait to load the page to read "I hate you", at least post links to some good jennifer lopez pics or something.
