Calls, because this is a bluff over 33% of the time.

normally I would call here but I've been going through a really bad and have been trying to fix some leaks. I thought maybe a call in this situation might be one of my leaks.

What? If there's an OESD on the flop at least I can put Villain on something that would check/call two streets and then push the heart with air, but what sort of hand is bluffing here? If Villain has a made hand why is he turning up the heat now?

A bluff is a weird term to use but, for instance, I am playing any ace in SB's spot exactly like this very often.

Hi adanthar,

Do you mind explaining why you would play any ace in that manner? Trying to get a donkey to make a tough laydown isn't something I'm in the habit of doing all that often. (if ever)

If you're valuing calling the flop with an ace, fine, BB certainly doesn't need an ace to make that bet, but you have to know you're dominated after the large turn bet, no? Given that information, you can't call the turn as you only win one of two ways: 1) spike your kicker and stack BB, or 2) force him off when the flush card hits.

2) alone doesn't justify the call even if he folds every time a heart hits and I don't think you're deep enough for 1) to make up the difference.

What am I missing?

BTW I push this turn to avoid a tough river decision so don't try that ish against me!

Who said anything about playing it this way against a donkey?

I'd call. IMO you are going to see desperation bluffs and garbage two pair here a lot.
