Default hand from opponnets point of view

Hey all, the following is a hand I played today and was curious to see what you all think of my opponents play.
The game is 6/12 at a card club I log most all of my hours. Games are fairly loose/passive. Villian is tightest player at the table next to me, and is aware enough to know I am a tight player. Villian is mp+1 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]-K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Hero is on the button.

Preflop: 3 folds, Villian raises, 3 folds, Hero calls, SB folds, BB calls.

Flop (6.5 sb): A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, Villian bets, Hero raises, SB folds, Villian calls

Turn (5.25 BB): J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Villian checks, Hero bets, Villian calls.

River (7.25 BB): 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Villian checks, Hero bets, Villian folds.

Well, if he's going to call the turn, I think he should probably call the river too. But when you bet the river, I guess he figured that meant you didn't just have TT or something.

Why not bet/fold the river if he's going to call it anyway?

Isn't this a classic case of way-ahead/way-behind for the villan? There are no other overcards that can hurt him.

Shouldn't villan check/call flop and turn, then lead the river?
Or maybe i don't get the idea just yet

I would have called the river to see what Ace a tight, reasonable player cold-called my raise with preflop.
