Hi, I have a question for those of you who play with me on Paradise.

I went broke the other day. Like flat-broke. Here was the problem. I like to play 4-8 live once in a while, which means not on the internet but at the casino. So I took a bankroll which was about $14000 in money orders to a casino and I put it on the table. Then some local village idiot says he needs more chips and he has some money stashed away at the casino (which seems like a good idea now). Actually he had a lot of money stashed away.

So the hand came up with me and the village idiot. In the end, the board was 5h6h8h2cAd. I had the 7h9h and I go all in with the village idiot. Well, he flips up the Ah7h and I flip over the 7c9c. Apparently, I didn't know what cards I was actually holding and I lost a big pot.

But the thought occurred to me: how come he knew his nut flush beat what could have been a straight flush? Well with that much money on the table, the answer was obvious. He hired a casino dealer and marked the cards!

So I now have my computer, my appartment, 5 cans of Campbells "Chunky"-style soup and my car but no money. And I need a stake in the 0.50-1.00 game online. Listen, it was an honest mistake and could have happened to just about anyone! The stake I need is on the order of $45.75 which I have calculated is my maximum liklihood indicator that I will make a living at 0.50-1.00. If I cannot pay you back the stake, you can have my car and one (1) can of "Chunky"-style soup. It is a 1999 year model and you will like it, but I promise to pay you back with 50% interest very soon (by next Tuesday).

Actually Yerma, you write fairly well, I would think that anyone with those skills, could always find someone to pay them $45.75. At the very least, $45.75 Canadian.

you question him betting the second nut knowing that you didnt have the true nut based on the dealer and him cheating....but you got some poor logic here. here is your statement.

and your conspiracy theory with the dealer is shot in the foot.

you shouldnt try to blame others for your mistakes.

As he restates in a later post, the car is a 1999 model.

I don't have the kind of scratch to stake someone a full $45.75US, but for the right deal would consider staking a percentage of that. Let me know if you're interested in forming a syndicate to get this together. I'd be willing to put the extra 75 cents in if it turns out the soup is Campbell's Chunky Sirloin Burger. That is some tasty soup.

On a side note, if anyone would like to stake me $8.50 or so, I feel I have a good shot at working this up to $45.75 by playing nickel poker.

I'm not so sure that someone who just lost all of their money on a boneheaded move and then tried to cover their mistake with an easily de-bunked conspiracy theory should be calling anyone else a village idiot.

I lost $14,000 in one hand of 4-8. Do you really think he cares if I call him a village idiot?! Have you ever lost $14,000 because you misread your own hand???

Dammit but Ray Zee was right. I wish I had kept $45.75 in my shoe!!!
