Default Esfandiari\'s laydown - HU Q final round

Maybe someone else who noted the bet sizes better than I can comment.

Pot size after Fischman's raise on the river seemed to be about 10-20% of the players' stacks, which were about even.

AS I REMEMBER IT:

No preflop raise. No huge bets raises in this hand.
Fischman: A4s
Esf: Q6o

Flop: A Q 2
Esf checks Fisch bets
Turn: Q
Esf bets Fisch calls
River: K
Esf bets, Fisch raises about 4 times Esf's river bet. Esf folds

Do good players ever make these laydowns? Obviously elite players have to be very confident of their reads and act on them. Stack sizes at the time didn't seem to be a large factor. So he put him on a full house or broadway but still.....I mean at least call for the split. Not sure of the exact pot size but he must have put his read at over 90-95% certainty. I think he temporarily forgot exactly what Kaplan said....that there's a chance Fischman is doing that with merely an Ace to avoid the split. If Esf re-raises him on the river, I think Fischman has an easy laydown. Which would make the river raise with an Ace one of Fischman's likely hands.

I mean I don't think I've seen that big of a laydown on tv.

I don't think I've ever been at a table where a player made that kind of laydown (that was revealed).

I understand the effect of viewers being able to see the players cards....but still,
1) anyone else think that this was very bad? (my choice)
or
2) just bad?
or
3) he was very certain of his read, regardless of the outcome he made the right play

Obviously you can tell by the tone of the post that I'm asking the question in earnest.

So what part of the post do you find ridiculous?

I'd be happy to debate you.

A lot of top players think they can read everything, like it was done on Tilt. This was an incredibly dumb laydown IMHO.

Hard to lay down top pair when there on connecting cards on board and when badly beaten "an incredibly dumb laydown".

Now, when he folded his straight vs. Forrest,(who had the same straight, THAT was an incredibly dumb laydown)

I wouldnt put it past Esfandari (based on glimpes of his "personality" from his webpage) to be one of those guys thats does commentary in his mind of what he thinks the announcers are saying, thus leading to laying down hands he shouldnt as he hears Mike Sexton yelling "what incredible poker insticts!!!"

Or maybe hes just working on a new trademark move to go with the "wave"

You're not the only one. The thread was about Antonio's play, Antonio acted first on each street, so I simply expected the first hand listed to be his, but it wasn't.
